ELECTRICIAN

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / MAJOR TASKS

1.     Install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment.

2.     Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.

3.     Perform electrical wiring, cable installation, termination, and connection works.

4.     Install electrical panels, switches, sockets, lighting systems, distribution boards, and related equipment.

5.     Conduct electrical testing and inspections before energizing systems.

6.     Identify electrical faults and carry out appropriate repairs.

7.     Perform preventive maintenance of electrical equipment and installations.

8.     Ensure electrical installations are properly grounded and protected.

9.     Follow approved electrical work procedures and permit-to-work requirements.

10.  Ensure all electrical tools and equipment are used safely and properly maintained.

11.  Report electrical defects, hazards, and maintenance requirements to the Electrical Supervisor/Engineer.

12.  Maintain records of electrical maintenance, repairs, inspections, and testing activities.

13.  Coordinate with other trades to avoid interference with mechanical, civil, and other project activities.

14.  Comply   with   all project     HSE   requirements, including                     electrical   isolation    and lockout/tagout procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

·        Diploma/TVET certificate in Electrical Installation, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

·        Relevant electrician certification or license is an advantage.

EXPERIENCE

·        Minimum 2 years of experience as an electrician.

·        Experience in construction, industrial, hydropower, or infrastructure projects is preferred.

SKILLS / COMPETENCIES

·        Good knowledge of electrical installation and maintenance.

·        Ability to read electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.

·        Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

·        Knowledge of electrical safety procedures.

·        Ability to use electrical testing and measuring instruments.

·        Good communication and teamwork skills.

·        Ability to work independently and follow technical instructions.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

·        Ability to work on an active construction site.

·        Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.

·        Ability to work in different environmental and weather conditions.

·        Ability to handle electrical tools and equipment and perform physically demanding work when required.
