Responsibilities

• Crop Planning and Management: Develop and implement crop production plans, including planting schedules, crop rotation, and yield forecasting to ensure continuous supply of fresh produce.
• Quality Control: Monitor the quality of fruits and vegetables from harvest through packaging and storage, maintaining compliance with safety standards and customer specifications.
• Post-Harvest Handling: Supervise harvesting, washing, sorting, grading, and packing operations to minimize spoilage and ensure high-quality fresh produce.
• Inventory and Logistics Management: Coordinate inventory of harvested crops, manage warehouse storage, and supervise transportation of produce to markets, processors, or distributors.
• Team Leadership: Lead and supervise farm workers and post-harvest staff, providing training on best practices, safety, and productivity.
• Supplier and Customer Relations: Establish relationships with suppliers, distributors, or buyers and manage contracts, deliveries, and order fulfillment.
• Budget and Cost Management: Oversee operational budgets, monitor costs associated with production, labor, packaging, and logistics, and optimize resources to improve profitability.
• Compliance and Sustainability: Ensure adherence to local agricultural regulations, food safety standards, and sustainable farming practices.
• Data Management and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production, quality assessments, and sales. Analyze trends to improve farm efficiency and meet market demands.

Education

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agribusiness, or related fields.
• Knowledge of agronomy, pest management, crop yield optimization, and cold chain logistics.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with food safety regulations   and quality standards.
• Ability to analyze market trends, forecast demand, and manage budgets.
• Proficiency in production management and inventory software is a plus.
